You could say metal runs in my blood.
For over 25 years, I worked with my hands—cutting, bending, welding, and mastering the industrial world of metal fabrication. But deep down, I was always an artist. I grew up surrounded by art and creativity. My father sold fine art and hand-crafted picture frames. My uncle? An abstract oil painter. I spent years immersed in music, DJing and jamming in bands, always chasing that electric spark of creation.
So when I turned my eye (and tools) to modern metal art, something clicked.
I started experimenting—grinding, polishing, throwing light across surfaces to see how it danced. I was mesmerised by the reflective shimmer, the way textures caught fire under movement. That’s when I knew I wasn’t just shaping metal. I was sculpting light.
This obsession became my signature style.
Every piece starts with raw material—aluminium, stainless steel, or copper. I cut it down to size with shears or saws, shaping each canvas by hand. For my sculptural works, I bring out the big guns—benders, presses, and forming tools. Then comes the grind.
I don’t use brushes or pencils. I wield grinders.
Five, six, sometimes more—each fitted with a unique grit or finish. Like an artist’s palette, every grinder gives me a different tone, movement, or rhythm. These etched textures form the beating heart of my work—metal that pulses with motion, even when still.
Then comes the colour.
I spray vibrant, translucent paints and dyes—sometimes automotive finishes, sometimes patinas that react with the metal itself. It’s a balancing act between science and soul. Once the colour sets, I may cut in new patterns, or lock it in with a crystal-clear coat that protects the piece while amplifying the depth beneath. The final result shimmers like a hologram—always shifting, always alive.
